When someone at a kart track says a line is "rubbered-in," they mean repeated running may deposit tyre rubber on that surface or commonly used line, not necessarily the whole track. That's the whole claim. It describes surface history. It says nothing about how much grip is on offer right now.
A track described as comparatively green is the opposite case: little recent buildup, tyres that haven't left much mark on the asphalt yet. Why grip still depends
Grip at any point on a track is the product of several things at once: what the surface is made of, how hot the tyres and track are, what tyre compound is in use, how much traffic has passed recently, and what setup the kart is already carrying. Rubber deposits are one input among several.

A dry example
Picture a dry club afternoon. Several groups have run since the gates opened, and by early afternoon a beginner notices the main line through the fast corners has gone a shade darker than it was that morning. That's a rubbered-in line forming in front of them, and it's worth noticing.
What they can reasonably conclude is that the surface has evolved through use. What they can't conclude is that braking later into that corner is now safe or effective. The darker line doesn't tell them anything about tyre temperature, absolute grip level, or whether the kart's current setup suits the change. The useful move is to note what they saw and how the kart felt. A color difference alone isn't a reason to change technique.
A wet counterexample
Now flip the weather. Picture a wet session on a track that already carries a visible rubber line laid down in dry running earlier in the week. A driver might expect that line to still offer an edge — but in the rain, the visibly rubbered patch feels less secure than the surrounding, less-used surface.
A documented wet event in another motorsport discipline shows a related pattern. The official report from the 2019 World RX of Norway final at Hell describes the more-rubbered front-row surface as providing less grip in those wet conditions. It's one event, on one mixed surface, in cars, not a universal wet-line rule for karting. But it's a clear demonstration that wet conditions can change or reverse the relationship between rubber and grip, so the rubbered-in label can't be read the same way in every condition.
A shift in visible rubber or in how the kart feels is a good reason to reassess what the kart is doing within normal safety margins, but it does not prescribe a specific change to your line, braking point, tyre pressure, or setup. Those calls need more information than a track condition label can supply on its own.

One field is easy to read too narrowly: "recent running" covers any running you know about that could still affect the surface, not just running since you arrived — a dry session two days earlier belongs there too, if it's relevant to a wet day now. If conditions have changed since that earlier running, such as rain moving in, note that as well.
This note describes a situation; it doesn't diagnose one. If a change in rubber or grip has you considering an adjustment, check current kart and tyre manufacturer documentation, the applicable organizer and governing-body rules for your event, and competent local guidance from someone who knows your specific kart and class. None of those three substitutes for the other two.
A parent, mechanic, or another driver helping a beginner can use the same note to capture context, so someone else can interpret it.
